Way Back Home

Way Back Home

Way Back Home is a 2D top-down puzzle game where the goal is to escape from an island. Players solve puzzles by using a "time bullet" to manipulate and combine objects within each stage.

The game was developed by a team of three, and we built our own custom engine from scratch. My role in the project was both Producer and Engine Architect. Throughout the development process, I gained valuable experience in managing schedules and fostering teamwork, and the importance of coordination and collaboration within a team.

Additionally, I implemented a replay feature, allowing players to review their gameplay. However, during playtesting, we received feedback that this feature was unnecessary, leading to its removal—a somewhat unfortunate but insightful experience in understanding feature prioritization in game development.
